Almost inevitable at this point...

Over the years, we have seen almost all of the issues that people experience with Macbooks, and the most common of these is most definitely liquid damage.

With any device that has been liquid damaged, the first thing that should be done is to remove the battery. Unfortunately, this is not possible with a Macbook (without disassembling it), so you're limited with what you can immediately do with it. What we would immediately recommend is that you don't try to power the Macbook on in any way, or try to charge it.

The real issue, is that with any moisture which may be present on the logic board, it's important to try and prevent a current from running through the board at the time. If it is powered on, it may cause the device to short circuit or at a minimum the electrical current will cause oxidation to form quite quickly.

For the most part, when we perform a full water damage cleaning on the logic board, as well as replacing some small components on the board (where required), the Macbook will come back to life like nothing ever happened. Other than that, there's a reasonable chance that the keyboard and/or trackpad will also need to be repaired.

So, if you have liquid damaged, or you're experiencing any other issue with your Macbook, you can find out more about getting your Macbook repaired by sending us a short Quick Estimate.
